Our expert product development team put our new Alpha TCT XTRA Annular Cutter Multi-Fit Shank through a series of controlled tests, comparing it to the leading market standard.
"We used a magnet drill to complete the comparison test, which is an automated machine that inserts and retracts
the cutter at the same rate every time, it makes the testing controlled and fair," Product Development Specialist, Brad Hockey said.
"We placed the machine onto a 25mm thick mild steel and used 22mm x 50mm annular cutters with cutting oil… we then hit the go button and let the machine drill holes until the cutters started failing."
Brad said he gave each annular cutter its best chance, clearing out debris when they became stuck.
Once the cutter constantly refused to cut through the steel, the test was stopped, and the cutter was retired.
Testing found the market standard annular cutter had an average cutting amount of 74 holes until its retirement, compared to a whopping average of 753 holes by the Alpha TCT XTRA Annular Cutter Multi-Fit Shank.
"These tests just prove that the Alpha annular cutter does last 10 x longer than the market standard; there's no mucking around when it comes to that," Brad said.
